Desmond Bartholomew Selected as a Trainee Under the STAGE Program.
Zikai Xu Selected as a Trainee Under the STAGE Program.
STAGE British Columbia is pleased to announce that Zikai Xu has been selected as a STAGE Trainee with his project, “Meta-analysis with Overlapping Subjects: An Adjusted Fisher’s Method.”
Zikai is currently a PhD student in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at Simon Fraser University, where he is conducting research under the supervision of Drs. Lloyd Elliott and Lin Zhang.
Before embarking on his doctoral journey, Master of Art from Duke University and a Master of Science from Simon Fraser University. He is also a recipient of Simon Fraser University’s PhD Research Scholarship.
Zikai previously researched on inference under correlated data structures. His STAGE project is focused on developing a statistically rigorous and computationally efficient framework for meta-analysis with overlapping subjects using only summary-level data, striving to make large-scale genetic findings more trustworthy across collaborative research networks.
STAGE is proud to support Zikai in his research endeavors and looks forward to his contributions in statistical innovations that improve the reliability and interpretability of genetic association studies.
STAGE (Strategic Training for Advanced Genetic Epidemiology) is a CANADA-wide training program in molecular epidemiology and statistical -omics.
