Talk Title:

Computational Reannotation of the Human Transcriptome with the Recount Project

Abstract:

Gene expression variation has now been measured at large scale by groups around the world. In this talk I will discuss our efforts to collect and synthesize all human RNA-sequence data in the recount project (https://jhubiostatistics.shinyapps.io/recount/). I will then focus on two key questions: (1) How and when can we discover novel genomic regions that are expressed from large collections of data? (2) Can we computationally re-phenotype messy samples to allow for integrative analysis?
